Gerald Santos, the newest addition to ASAP XV

TRANSFERRING of networks is now the most talk-of-the-town nowadays. Right on the heels of Mark Bautista's
transfer and rumoured transfer of Rachelle Ann Go to GMA-7, "Pinoy Pop Superstar"
second season Grand Champion, Gerald Santos, is
all poised to sing a new tune as he
transfers to ABS-CBN.

It was recently reported that the young Kapuso singer will
be introduced in the weeks to
come as the latest addition to the
growing family of ASAP XV, a Kapamilya
network's Sunday musical variety show.



Gerald, according to a source, has
already done a photo shoot for his new
home studio.

The teen singing champion used to be a regular on the
defunct "SOP." When the show folded up two weeks ago to give way to a new and
revitalized Sunday musical program "Party Pilipinas," the teen singer was
not included in the cast.

Gerald's only show before he finally bids GMA-7 goodbye is the
Saturday variety show, German Moreno's
"Walang Tulugan with the Master
Showman."

At a young age, Gerald started joining
various amateur singing competitions.
Then, in 2006, he competed and won the
grand prize in GMA's talent search,
"Pinoy Pop Superstar." The most
compelling reason he joined the search
was his family's meager income.

That year also saw the emergence of
Gerald as a certified recording star.
GMA Records released his debut album "A Day on the Rainbow."

This young balladeer also tried other
forms of artistic expression. Together
with R & B Princess Kyla, he co-hosted
"Pop Star Kids," a search for young
aspiring singers.

He also tried flexing his acting muscles
via "I Luv New York", a dramedy starring
Jolina Magdangal, Jennylyn Mercado,
Marvin Agustin and Mark Herras. He played the younger brother of Jolina in
the TV series. He also appeared as
himself in now defunct weekly drama anthology, "Magpakailanman," hosted by Mel Tiangco.


To celebrate his 20th birthday, Gerald
will have a concert on his birthday, May
15, at Cinema 6 of SM North EDSA, 7 p.m.
The concert, billed "Back on Track: A
Birthday Concert," that will feature Jolina
Magdangal and Kyla as guests.

On the other hand, Mark Bautista and his
manager Veronique del Rosario-Corpus
recently inked a three-year guaranteed
contract with GMA-7. Mark was
already introduced as the newest
Kapuso star during the launch of GMA-7's Sunday musical variety show
"Party Pilipinas."
